Cairns RC is a not-for-profit club registered in Queensland, Australia.  All proceeds from membership fees, race fees and other club fund raising activities are used for operating the club and making improvements such as track rebuilds, equipment purchases and upgrades.

​Cairns RC Club was originally created in late 1980’s in Aeroglen.  During this time race championships were held in Smithfield. In the late 80’s early 90’s and after much consideration, it was decided to move the club to a new location been behind Fred Moule Pavilion at the Cairns Showgrounds.  We remained at this location for about four years.

In the mid 1990’s an opportunity arose to relocate to the car park area behind DFO Shopping Centre in Westcourt. This became the temporary location for both the ON-Road and OFF-Road tracks until permanent grounds could be secured.  In 2001 the ON-Road track moved to the Cairns Skating Centre in Manunda and the OFF-Road track relocated to Gordonvale in 2007. 

In 2011, Cairns RC hosted the QLD EP 1/10th Titles at the purpose-built track in Gordonvale. 

Anyone aged from 5 years old and above is welcome to come and race.  Our club caters for a wide range of skill levels, from the complete novice to the experienced racer.  Feel free to come down for a race or even just to spectate.  Our club members are more than willing to help anyone wanting to find out about or get started in the hobby.

​Club race days are usually held every second Saturday at ON-Road, from 1pm to around 6pm and every alternate Sunday at OFF-Road,  from 9am till 2pm. Our race season runs from February until December. All race days are weather pending. 

​Cairns RC club run a variety of scale electric and Nitro vehicles for both ON road and OFF road.
